Almost without a notice, 2022 has come to an end. As usual, this is an excellent reason to give a few more minutes to some photos that deserve a bit more than what the social media allocate to them in real time. So here are the photos that made 2022 for me.
America South West
For those who have already forgot, the year started as dark red and most of the world closed its doors. Despite this, 2022 was ultimately a fairly productive year and full of photographic experiences. We took advantage of the opening of the skies at the end of February with a great trip to the beautiful southwest of the United States. Zion National Park in Utah welcomed us with freezing temperatures. Its orange-red rocks were painted white, creating spectacular sights. It was cold but worth every degree below zero.
We went through the thawing process in Death Valley National Park in California, one of the most amazing, special and diverse places there are. As a landscape photographer, Death Valley has always been high on my wish list.
Israel Landscapes
As every year there were many local photography trips, to the south and the north, in winter and summer, sunrises and sunsets. Some of them were used to get to know new locations and some to return to familiar and beloved places. Here are some examples:
Mediterranean Seascapes
Seascapes are a favorite and important subject among landscape photographers all over the world and every year I dedicated quite a few sunset hours to our beaches.
The Nightscapes
Of course, there were some particularly fun night sesions this year as well. Acording to my tradition, the Milky Way season opened at the Yalak winter pool in the Negev Desert. Later there were several great and productive nights in Mt. Tzin and Paran.
Beautiful Tuscany
A trip of a few days to the wonderful Tuscany in the fall yielded a lot of photos and a thorough acquaintance with the beautiful Val d'Orcia region. Can't wait to go back there...
Cold (and beautiful) France
Just before the end of the year, we managed to steal a few days in the cold and rainy (and still beautiful) Normandy and Brittany in France.
That was my 2022. I wish you all a great 2023, yours, Amos
